Ubik base kit content

Ubik customizable options

  • Battery size (18650 or 21700, default 18650).
  • Heater power (medium or high, default medium).
  • Handedness (right or left, default right).
  • Button style (4 choices, default stainless with LED).
  • Wood finish (French style or vegan, default French).

All options listed above come at no extra cost.

Wood species (body and bottom plate)

All prices shown exclude taxes, tariffs and shipping. For EU residents in most cases 20% French VAT is added. For USA expect 10% to 12.6% import tariffs, plus eventual local taxes where applicable.

Option 1: light customization

  1. Any of the 24 classic wood combinations = 333.33€.
  2. Upgrading body to one of the classic six variants = +30€.
  3. Upgrading bottom plate to a different tone-matched species…
    • …Regular species = +15€.
    • …Premium species = +25€.

Option 2: chef’s choice

  • You choose amongst a list of species I would like to (re)try.
  • Or you give me carte blanche.
  • I handle the matching with a pretty plate.
  • You pay less than the equivalent full custom.
  • I get the opportunity to validate new species to add to the catalog, and to let my artistic creativity run free.

Option 3: full customization

  • We engage in a dialogue to select the best species for you.
  • Commissioned work can be discussed.
  • Starts at 380€ for regular species.
  • Premium species on-demand.

Warranty scheme

Products sold into the EU are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity (EU Directive 2019/771) for a minimum period of 2 years from the date of delivery. Longer periods can be imposed by some member States.

Outside EU, period is also 2 years from the date of delivery but eventual shipping fees might be charged for returns.

Ubik was designed with repairability in mind and complies with the Right to Repair Directive (EU Directive 2024/1799).

Excluded from this legal warranty are:

  • Broken glass items (stems, heater insulator), unless they arrived broken upon delivery.
  • Minor wood imperfections, including seasonal variations, as long as they do not affect Ubik usability.
  • Water damage of any kind, on wood or electronics.
  • Wear and tear resulting from normal use.
  • Charring of the wood due to accidental prolonged heater activation without active airflow.
  • Defects and failures arising from user error.
